Clarence Park will play host to Luton, Watford and Hemel Hempstead teams in St Albans City’s pre-season fixtures, writes Jess Unwin.
Tickets for the games, which will help City manager Gary McCann prepare his side for the coming 2026-27 campaign in the Isthmian League Premier Division, are already on sale from the club’s website at a concession and under-18 price of £4, while adults will pay £8.
The fixtures in full are:
July 11 – away at Hanworth Villa, 3pm kick-off.
July 14 – away at Bedfont Sports, 7.45pm kick-off.
July 18 – home to Luton Town XI, 3pm kick-off.
July 25 – home to Watford XI, 3pm kick-off.
July 28 – away at Real Bedford, 7.45pm kick-off.
August 1 – home to Hemel Hempstead, 3pm kick-off.
August 3 – away at Potters Bar, 7.30pm kick-off.
A further game may be organised for July 21.
• St Albans have also published ticket prices for 2026-27. Admission will be free for under-5s, £6 for under-18s, £9 for students, £18 for adults, and the concession price is £12.50. This will mean a steep hike for 18- to 23-year-olds, who were able to buy tickets for just £9 last season but must fork out double that this time around. Most tickets can be bought online in advance at a discount price with, for example, the adult price dropping to £15.
City’s decision in 2025-26 to increase the price of adult season tickets to £315 drew criticism from some supporters and the club has dropped the 2026-27 rate to £285. There’s an ‘early-bird’ price of £250 and existing season ticket holders can renew at £212.50.
Talking recently about ticket prices on the club’s podcast Saints and the City, St Albans general manager Tony Gauthier said: “We’ve looked at it and we don’t feel we got it right last season.”
He revealed the club had looked in depth at ticket sales data, including a well-received trial of a different price range for City’s Christmas fixtures, before making its announcement on the new cost of admission to Clarence Park. “At the end of the day we do value the supporters and we want to find an affordable price. However, we have to balance that against demand and our own rising costs.”
