Beechwood Park School has unveiled new facilities which aim to provide pupils with exciting opportunities to explore coding, robotics, AI and digital innovation.
The specialist computing and robotics room formspart of its continued investment in future-focused education, digital learning and STEM provision.
The new facility features 24 dedicated workstations, a FIRST LEGO League competition table and a feature wall displaying the school’s digital learning mantra: Dream it. Solve it. Build it.
The space will support computing and robotics lessons across the school, as well as a growing programme of extracurricular opportunities, including the school’s FIRST LEGO League team, Minecraft Club and a brand-new AI Club.
Beechwood Park is committed to helping pupils develop the skills needed for a rapidly evolving digital world. This year, pupils will compete in the Primary Coding League for the first time, providing new opportunities to test their coding and problem-solving skills against schools across the country.
Alongside the new room, the school has invested in two banks of laptops, creating the equivalent of four computing suites, two of which are fully mobile. This enables technology to be integrated into learning across the curriculum, allowing pupils to develop digital skills in meaningful, real-world contexts.
Head of digital strategy Susi Blithe said: “This room marks the end of my first year at Beechwood Park, and it’s a wonderful moment to look back on how far we have come. We have transformed our digital infrastructure, grown our clubs and competition teams, and put real creative technology into the hands of our children. There is a great deal more to come, and I can’t wait to see what our pupils do with it.”
