St Albans Girls’ School was filled with excitement and pride this morning as Year 11 students
celebrated an exceptional set of GCSE results. The cohort secured excellent achievements across
the full range of subjects.
Headteacher, Paul Kershaw, paid tribute to the efforts of the year group and said: “These exceptional results are a reflection of the dedication and resilience this year group has demonstrated over the past five years and they should feel so proud of what they have achieved. I also want to recognise the incredible commitment of STAGS staff, who inspire and support these, and all our young people every day, as well as families whose encouragement has been invaluable! Thank you so much for all of the positive comments from families today about the school which are all very gratefully received on behalf of our exceptional staff”.
Among the many success stories, special recognition goes to Chloe, Srishti, Holly, Ava, Yasmin,
Laura, Lily, Hanifa, Sienna and Allegra – some of the number of students who achieved Grade 9s
and 8s across the board which is a remarkable accomplishment. Looking back on the morning,
Year 11 student Poppy said: “After all this time, it feels great to see our hard work has paid off.
I’m so pleased with today’s results!”
STAGS students are taking on an inspiring range of Post 16 pathways this year. Alongside those
staying at STAGS for A Levels, many are pursuing exciting specialist routes – including Film & TV
Production, Equine Studies, Travel & Tourism, Forensic Psychology, Carpentry and Childcare.
