More than 300 excited Year 13 students at Sandringham School gathered today to receive their A level and BTEC results, marking another record-breaking year across all subject areas.
These exceptional achievements have enabled the vast majority of students to secure their top-choice destinations at prestigious universities across the UK and internationally, while a growing number have accepted places on highly competitive degree apprenticeships.
The depth of academic achievement this year is extraordinary. An impressive 30 students gained three or more A* grades, while 12 secured places at Oxford and Cambridge. Specialist higher education pathways were equally strong, with two students starting veterinary science and three beginning medicine. The school is also exceptionally proud of their two Ukrainian students, who together achieved a total of seven A* grades.
The four Head Students have served as outstanding role models for the entire school community and are now preparing for their next adventures. Chloe will be studying politics and international relations at the University of Bristol, Ben moves on to study engineering at the University of Warwick, Matthew-Jeremy will be studying computer science at the University of Bath, and Natalie is heading off to study civil engineering at Newcastle University.
The school is delighted to celebrate a large cohort heading to Oxbridge colleges.
Destinations include Jessica (veterinary science, Clare College, Cambridge), Marcus (economics, Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge), Sophie (geography, Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge), Tabitha (medicine, Murray Edwards College, Cambridge), Eli (English and classics, Wadham College, Oxford), Oscar (chemical engineering, Peterhouse, Cambridge), and Jessica (HSPS, Trinity College, Cambridge).
Both Ellen and Harry have been accepted to study Law at Downing College, Cambridge, forming a strong Sandringham contingent on the course. Additionally, Harry, Oliver, and Volodymyr are holding Cambridge offers as they await final college placements.
Beyond university pathways, Sandringham continues to see impressive success in vocational routes, with a growing number of students accepting high-quality degree apprenticeships.
Executive headteacher, Alan Gray, praised the year group’s incredible effort and strong community spirit:
“We are delighted for and extremely proud of all our Year 13 students. They have worked exceptionally hard throughout their two years at the school and have developed an extraordinarily positive learning culture.
“Not only have they made significant progress, but more importantly, they have become very good friends who will no doubt stay connected throughout their lives. They are true ambassadors for the younger generation and have been a key part of our community at Sandringham.
“I would also like to thank all our staff who have been amazing, and supported Year 13 through their studies. Well done everyone!”
