More than 1,300 stockings and booties are being given to residents of care homes across St Albans and district, following a marathon knitting effort by members of local churches and other community groups.
The Christmas ‘Sending Love to Care Homes’ project was devised and co-ordinated by lead ‘Anna Chaplain’ Maggie Dodd, who helps provide spiritual and pastoral support to local older people.
She said, “This was an amazing effort, involving so many people. I’m sure they will bring smiles to the faces of the residents receiving them in coming days. I’m so grateful to everyone who has played a part in this project.”
