There was much to celebrate at Verulam School on A level results day, with Rico Chung being awarded A* grades in mathematics, further maths, computer science and physics, setting him up nicely for Oxford, where he will be studying maths and computer science.
Tom Mitchell received two A*s and an A, and head boy Rishab Heerah earned four A grades in maths, further maths, chemistry and biology.
Success was also evident for students taking a range of vocational qualifications, with Michael Broderick
achieving a Distinction* and Distinction in BTEC qualifications and going to the University of Hertfordshire to study cybersecurity.
Headteacher Fergal Moane said: “We are very proud of this group of students who have had to cope with disruption to their education due to the pandemic but they have worked hard and achieved highly.
“We are delighted that the vast majority have received the offers they wanted for university or other next steps.
“As well as universities, it is also pleasing to see students taking up prestigious apprenticeships, such as Aaron Singh Lota who will be joining Deloitte’s programme in September.”
