Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery in Chequer Street ignited youngsters’ creative minds with a St Albans-inspired pendant design competition, exhibiting entries in their windows for passers-by to admire.
The competition encouraged local children to demonstrate their artistic flare while taking inspiration from the city and its surroundings. Illustrations came from far and wide, filling the studio and shop window with colour and representing many of the elements we love about our community.
The winner was 14 year old Emily who blew the panel away with ‘History Fragments’ an intricate design with historical explanation. As her prize she received a design consultationwith senior designer Beth, ready to transform her drawing into her final pendant. Emily will receive the pendant prize after it has been hand-engraved in Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery’s award-winning workshop. The four runners-up received a HK sketchbook and a set of sketching pencils to encourage them to continue nurturing their artistic talents.
