St Albans Arts Society held their summer exhibition at Dagnall Street Baptist Church last week, offering the public an opportunity to see firsthand the work their members have created this year.
A spokesperson for the society said: “The exhibition represents many hours of artistic endeavour by every one of us who participated, so many thanks and congratulations to all. Particular thanks are due to committee members Sue Berquist and Jan Munro who are our organisers-in-chief for the Exhibition and as usual succeeded magnificently, with the help of their dedicated team. From the advance publicity to the wonderful private view evening, to the beautifully curated displays, the flowers, the stewarding, recordkeeping and finances, every single aspect of the exhibition is down to the efforts of volunteer members.”
This year’s prize winners were: Chris Baker for Sunny St Albans (St Albans Trophy), Candelabra by Ybo Vass (Edward Bevin Cup) and Abbey Mill Lane by Eric Littledike (Terry Biggs Award – Best in Show).
