High Sheriff of Hertfordshire Annie Brewster has been presented with the prestigious Paul Harris Award by St Albans Rotary Verulamium Club.
Named after Rotary’s founder, the award was created to recognise individuals who have significantly contributed to helping communities, supporting charities, and furthering Rotary’s efforts to eradicate poverty.
It is rarely awarded to anyone outside the Rotary family, and was in recognition of her years of public service as a parish, district and county councillor, St Albans Mayor, Herts county council chairman, and now High Sheriff.
The presentation took place on Tuesday evening at Woollams, with special guests including current St Albans Mayor Cllr Jamie Day and the Mayoress Liz Day, Suzy Moody and Sarah Morgan from Home Start Herts, and St Albans Times editor Matt Adams.
Club President Claudio Duran said afterwards: “It was a great pleasure to recognise Annie Brewster with the Paul Harris Fellowship Award in honour of her exceptional service to our local communities.
”Annie’s unwavering support for Rotary’s mission and dedication to initiatives that uplift our community has been invaluable. This award reflects our deep appreciation for her commitment and impactful contributions.”
Annie added: “What an enormous honour from an organisation I have so much love and respect for. Thank you very much indeed and thank you for all you do to support our community in so many wonderful ways.”
