Tens of thousands of people have watched the headmaster of Beechwood Park School transform a bottle of water into Coca-Cola – but it’s the inspiring message behind the magic that’s truly capturing hearts.
Christian Pritchard wanted to stress that there is strength, colour and sparkle in every child, if they are given the confidence to discover and use it.
His Speech Day magic trick has now been viewed more than 103,000 times on Instagram.
Mr Pritchard, head of the Markyate independent school since September 2023, said afterwards: “The human body is around 60–75 per cent water, but within each of us are skills, talents and strengths that help us shine. We can spend our lives focusing on what we can’t do, or we can choose to recognise what we do well and use those strengths to make a positive difference.
“The magic trick was simply a fun way to highlight an important message about life… We believe every child has something special within them. Our role as educators is to help them discover it, to see it as a strength, and to share it with the world.”
