St George’s School is celebrating an “outstanding set of GCSE results” today.
The school has seen more than half of all grades between grade 7 to 9. Among the many individual successes, 13 pupils achieved a clean sweep of grades 8 and 9.
Headteacher Andy Ford said: “We are hugely proud of all our pupils for the effort and commitment they have shown over the last years. Their achievements are richly deserved and a reflection of their hard work, as well as the dedication of our staff. We are very much looking forward to welcoming so many of them back into our Sixth Form in September. Whatever direction they now choose, we wish each and every one of them success in the future.”
The majority of pupils are returning to their Sixth Form to study A levels and they are excited to be welcoming many new students who will be joining Year 12.
He added: “St George’s is one of the country’s leading state boarding schools, committed to both academic excellence as well as to providing a holistic education rooted in its Christian ethos. The school combines strong examination results with a rich co-curricular life and a distinctive sense of community.
