GCSE Results: St Columba’s College students awarded exceptional results

St Columba's College students achieve outstanding results.

St Columba’s College is celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results with record
rates of top grades and superb performances from many learners.

19.2% of all GCSE entries achieved the highest grade of 9 and 54% of this cohort achieved at least one grade 9. Special mention should go to English Language, where 27% of all students were awarded
a grade 9. Moreover, 56% of all entries were rated at the maximum grades of 9-7 with 88%
of the year group achieving at least one grade 7.

Headmaster Karl Guest said: “Our best overall performer this year was Daniel who achieved a perfect set of ten grade 9s and a Distinction Star in his Level 2 Extended Maths Certificate. Close behind were Ethan, with nine grade 9s, one grade 8 and a Distinction in his Extended Maths Certificate, and
Joshua, with eight grade 9s, one grade 8 and a Distinction in his Extended Maths Certificate.
We are extremely proud of all our students, who, supported by our caring and committed
staff, have worked with enthusiasm and determination to achieve outstanding results. We look forward to welcoming most of them back to our Sixth Form in September to undertake
an exciting range of academic and vocational qualifications.
“These exceptional examination results are testament to the determination, care and support shown to our students by our passionate academic staff. Our teachers ensure that all students enjoy a holistic education, which is nurtured by personal attention and utterly committed to academic excellence.  I offer my sincere and heartfelt congratulations to all the students and wish them every success in all their
future endeavours.”
