Sopwell House Hotel is jumping on board the Wonka bandwagon following the release of the blockbuster movie – which was partly filmed in St Albans.
The venue is hosting a Wonka Themed Escape until the end of January, offering a taste of the weird and wonderful inspired by Roald Dahl’s quirky chocolatier.
Settle down for a Wonka-themed afternoon tea, starting off with a tower of delicate finger sandwiches, along with a selection of pastries with a twist.
Expect the likes of milk chocolate and hazelnut slice with popping candy, passion fruit and mango cube with tropical jelly, chocolate lolly pop and coconut and raspberry jelly with bursting bubble, accompanied by the Forbidden Bubbly cocktail with orange juice, Grand Marnier and prosecco – poured over candy floss inside a glass!
Then enjoy an overnight stay in a Mews Suite, some with feature fireplaces and cedar wood spa baths, complete with your own purple robe, fit for Willy Wonka himself.
Delights await with an in-room mini bar packed with a plethora of timeless sweet treats, from exploding candy to fizzy liquid drinks and chocolate bars to indulge your inner child.
