A month of roadworks will be underway in a major route through St Albans from next week.

As part of efforts by Affinity Water to improve their pipes in the local area work will be taking place from July 24 to August 25 to reinforce existing pipes along Sandpit Lane near its junction with House Lane.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the work, and there may be disruption to local water supply.

A spokesperson said: “These essential works need to improve their pipes means there’ll be fewer bursts and supply interruptions, with less need for them to do roadworks and repairs in the future. This will provide you and your community with a reliable and high-quality supply of drinking water for many years to come.”
