Almost a year since the official opening of SADC’s flagship development Jubilee Square, there is still no tenant for the hospitality venture at the forefront of the Victoria Street facade.
The Pavilion remains available for a commercial lease – and the St Albans Times understands there has been some interest but no agreement has been reached as yet.
This lack of income is likely to be taking its toll on council finances, as not only does the original debt for the development still need to be paid, but presumably accrued interest on top of that.
There are now tenants living in the £64 million development, and flexible workspace operator Co-Space is set to occupy approximately 28,000 sq ft. of new workspace at the site.
Meanwhile, a selection of one and two bedroom and penthouse apartments are being offered for sale on the complex – with a share of ownership starting at 10 per cent to 75 per cent depending on affordability.
