The annual Question of Sport evening at Sopwell House in aid of Rennie Grove Peace Hospice saw 240 guests pit their wits on various sports-related trivia.
Visitors heard from two incredible speakers – Dr Sarah Klinger, Rennie Grove Peace’s medical director – as well as Ben Brocklesby from corporate supporter, Origin, who shared his personal story of the care his father received from the hospice.
Host of the evening, TV sports presenter Geoff Shreeves, said: “I was delighted to host such a fun Question of Sport evening for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care. A brilliant evening all round showing what a fantastic community we have in St Albans supporting our local hospice by raising an incredible £100,000.”
Lisa Meagher, corporate partnerships manager at Rennie Grove Peace, added: “It was another brilliant evening at our annual Question of Sport fundraising dinner and a record year for fundraising. It was great to see the business community in and around St Albans coming together to support our 10th Question of Sport event.
“I’d like to thank our host Geoff Shreeves and organiser Kevin Luckhurst as well as our wonderful sponsors including our headline sponsor, Aitchison Raffety, as well as Andrew Kane, DLL and Complete Fire Protection. “The evening wouldn’t be possible without this community coming together to buy tickets, bid in the auction and take part in the raffle. Every penny raised will be used to provide vital care for local people who are living with a life-limiting illness.”
