St Albans Postboxes hoping for a record-breaking Christmas

St Albans Postboxes 2023.

St Albans is set to make history this Christmas with 92 woolly postbox toppers across the city and surrounding district —the highest number ever displayed in one town!

St Albans Postboxes has been spreading festive cheer since 2018, raising over £120,000 for local charities. This year, the team behind the community-driven event is aiming even higher with a record-breaking number of hand-crafted toppers, showcasing both new designs and beloved classics.

Co-founder Clare Suttie said: “We’re thrilled to be attempting a world record this year. Our toppers not only bring joy to residents and visitors but also generate much-needed funds for local causes that make a real difference in the community.”

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit two incredible local charities: Up on Downs and Gaddesden Place Riding for the Disabled, with sponsorship playing a vital role in supporting their essential work.

Local businesses, pubs, clubs, churches, residents’ groups, and families can sponsor a topper by reserving their spot online via a simple form. Sponsors can choose a location, donate directly to the charities using the link provided, and have their logo and a personalised message featured on the topper for the month of December.
