Daisy Cooper has been named as one of the 100 leading women in politics and public service for the second year in a row.
She joins fellow Parliamentarians like Deputy PM Angela Rayner and leader of the Opposition Kemi Badenoch, alongside leading figures in the civil service, public affairs, and political journalism, such as BBC TV presenter Laura Kuenssberg.
The ‘Women in Westminster: The 100’ list is published annually by the House Magazine, aiming to recognise and celebrate the achievements of 100 leading women over the past year.
Daisy is recognised for the success of her campaigning efforts throughout the General Election both in St Albans and on the national stage, and her determination in pushing for improvements in access to social care, education and healthcare, including by sharing her personal experience of being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and the NHS saving her life.
Daisy said: “It’s really humbling but also a real honour to feature in this list, alongside so many other women leaders shaping political and public life.
“It’s particularly special this year given that we now have the most diverse parliament yet, with a record 41% of MPs being women, and with women making up 44% of my own party too.
“The list itself is a real tribute to all those trailblazers who broke down barriers and led the way for women in public life; and I hope it inspires even more girls and women across the country to stand up for the things they believe in, and to stand for election.”
