Makers of the forthcoming St Albans edition of boardgame Monopoly say they fear the city may be “too posh” to have an Old Kent Road equivalent.
The game’s creators are making their rounds as they go through each and every suggestion from the public consultation process for inclusion on the board.
“We’ve been wonderfully spoilt with choices when putting this special edition Monopoly board game together, from Mayfair to Whitechapel Road – in all areas, except one, we need a suggestion to replace Old Kent Road,” says Ella Gibbs, custom games executive at Winning Moves UK, who is producing the special edition.
“Maybe St Albans is too posh to have an Old Kent Road equivalent?”
When it was announced earlier this year that St Albans would be getting its very own Monopoly, the public was invited to send in suggestions for local landmarks to be featured, such as the Cathedral and Verulamium Park.
Ella added: : “We would like to formally thank each and every person who sent in nominations.”
In all, more than 30 St Albans landmarks and favourites will be showcased in the game.
