A house in St Albans is now off-limits after a full closure order was secured in response to ongoing drugs-related offences and anti-social behaviour.
The order – which prohibits anyone from entering the address in Cyril Way – was granted this morning at St Albans Magistrates’ Court.
Neighbourhood Policing Teams worked closely with SADC’s anti-social behaviour officers following multiple complaints from neighbours about persistent drug use, disorder and nuisance behaviour linked to the property.
Neighbourhood PC Ben Kirby said: “No one should have to put up with the anti-social behaviour that is often linked to drugs. We are grateful to residents for letting us know about the problems and, as a result, we were able to quickly get the closure order secured.
“We hope this provides some peace to people living nearby and reassures residents that we will do everything we can to prevent and deter anti-social behaviour and
criminality from blighting our communities.”
Cllr Sarwar Shamsher, SADC lead for community safety added: “This was another successful joint operation involving our anti-social behaviour team and the police.
“They acted on complaints from residents who were concerned about activities at the property, and they gained the closure order after carrying out their own investigations.
“The order will put the property off-limits and is a demonstration of our commitment to keeping our communities safe.”
