A record number of sixth form students at Sandringham have celebrated their A-level results this year.
Headteacher Alan Gray said: “We were delighted with the outcomes once again with over 260 students receiving good news, many with truly exceptional results. It was lovely seeing them celebrate their achievements with so many meeting or exceeding their aspirations.”
The school saw record numbers achieving top grades with nearly 80 students gaining straight A* and A grades.
Students heading to Oxbridge include Jack studying biochemistry at St John’s, Oxford, Jack studying chemistry at Sommerville, Oxford, Annabel studying PPE
at Hertford, Oxford, Isabel studying English at Girton, Cambridge and Alika studying law at Churchill, Cambridge.
The Russel Group Universities attracted the majority of the students exemplified by two of the four head students, Maya and Henry, who are off to study the same course, politics and international relations, at Exeter University.
Alan added: “It has been a privilege for staff to work with this year group and help them progress. More students are now choosing degree apprenticeships and a significant number of girls are entering STEM courses which is really pleasing.
“We also greatly value working with Beaumont and Verulam Schools in the BeauSandVer post-16 consortium. I would like to congratulate everyone in the upper sixth for their achievements and thank them and all our staff for their tireless work in the sixth form. Well done everyone!”
