The annual Rennie Grove Peace Question of Sport fundraising dinner has once again scored a huge success after raising a staggering £100,000.
The evening welcomed 247 corporate supporters of the charity at Sopwell House for a sports quiz hosted by broadcaster Geoff Shreeves and won by a team from Sherrards in St Albans.
In addition to ticket sales, money was raised on the night through a raffle as well as a live and silent auction for lots including a Champagne afternoon tea at Pendley Manor Hotel, a handmade suit from Waterers of St Albans, Wimbledon Centre Court tickets and a day at the races.
Lisa Meagher, head of partnerships and philanthropy at Rennie Grove Peace, said: “What a fantastic night and an incredible amount raised. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Geoff Shreeves and Kevin Luckhurst who are handing over the reins after 11 years of organising the event and making it the fantastic success it now is.
“Thank you to everybody who supported the event, attended on the night and helped us reach this fantastic fundraising amount. Every penny raised will be used to fund vital hospice care for local people.”
