Increased police patrols are being introduced around Oaklands College after two students were injured in a knife attack outside the campus yesterday afternoon.
The incident occurred outside Oaklands Stores in Hatfield Road, St Albans, at around 3.40pm.
Officers from St Albans and armed response officers attended with support from the National Police Air Service and the ambulance service.
A 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male were taken to hospital by paramedics with serious suspected stab wounds, not deemed to be life threatening.
Insp Paul Caro from St Albans Safer Neighbourhood team said: “I want to reassure the public that this is being treated as an isolated incident, but police patrols are being increased in the area to safeguard others.
“We are working hard to trace who was responsible for the incident yesterday afternoon. If you have information which could help our investigation, please email Det Sgt Paul Wadsworth via Paul.Wadsworth@herts.police.uk, and quote ISR 584 (09/10/23).”
