St Albans Cathedral is auctioning a collection of furniture as part of a spring clean.
These historic pieces are on display in the North Transept until Friday January 17 whilst being auctioned online through Humbert & Ellis Auctioneers. There is no reserve and 100 per cent of the bid price will go to the Cathedral.

Items include a 19th century Gothic Revival carved oak prayer desk, vintage woollen runners. a votive candle payment repository dating back to the Victorian age, an early 20th century communion rail, and a pair of heavy pewter candlesticks.
