Officers investigating a stabbing near Oaklands College in St Albans have now charged and remanded a teenager in connection with the incident.
A 17-year-old boy from Hatfield was today charged with two counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and for being in possession of cannabis.
An incident involving a group of young people was reported to have kicked off at around 3.40pm on Monday outside Oaklands Stores on Hatfield Road.
Local police officers attended the scene, joined by armed response colleagues, with support from the police helicopter and the ambulance service.
A 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male were taken to hospital by paramedics with serious suspected stab wounds, but these were not life-threatening.
Det Sgt Paul Wadsworth from St Albans Local Crime Unit said: “I am hopeful that we have reassured the local community following this latest development. The investigation is still continuing and we would urge anyone with any information, who has not already spoken to us, to get in touch.”
