There’s a new team at the top of St Albans District Chamber of Commerce.
Wagada Digital CEO Cheryl Luzet has been elected President, replacing Pat Strods in the role, with Paul Rosenthal, sales director of Amthal Fire and Security, as her Vice-President.
The decision was made at the Chamber’s annual general meeting, which took place at the Old Albanian Sports Club on Tuesday evening.
In handing over her chains of office, Pat thanked the Chamber team of Emma Fisher, Claire Stevenson and Alexandra Asanache for their hard work during her tenure, her fellow directors for their support, and the Chamber members for their continued engagement, support and active contributions.
Accepting the role following an open vote, Cheryl thanked Pat for her hard work in the role over the past three years: “I have some very big shoes to fill. One of Pat’s legacies is the really strong board that she’s built and the brilliant in-house team of Emma, Claire and Alex. My intention is to fully use the skills of that board and to bring these talents to the forefront.”
She told the meeting: “I’m really keen to focus on support for leaders and leadership development. But we need your help with this. We need you to tell us what we can do best to support you so that you can get the most out of your membership. I’m conscious from talking to people over the past few years that we still have a lot of work to do in changing the perception of the Chamber. But as we can see from this room we have a really vibrant, positive mix of members, really diverse in gender and age. However, there are still some who view the Chamber as being stuck in the past.
“So with Paul as my Vice President, we will continue to focus on our goal of supporting members in building relationships that grow their businesses. But I also want to ensure that we are a Chamber that embraces fun along the way. I firmly believe that when we enjoy ourselves, we generate the deep relationships that lead to referrals and really great conversations.”
