A St Albans-based performing arts school has been recognised for its outstanding social and community impact.
SASA received the Business Awards UK gong for Social Impact of the Year, highlighting everything they do to promote and develop access to the performing arts for young people in the region.
The school was praised for its clear social purpose and for its years of work in nurturing, supporting, and creating safe, welcoming spaces through its classes, workshops, and performance opportunities.
Under the leadership of Phoebe Shergold-Willis, SASA has never strayed from its founding mission of making performing arts accessible to all young people. They continue to open doors across the community offering performance opportunities at events like St Albans Spring Festival, the Pioneer Club’s Glastonbury celebrations, the annual Christmas lights switch on and many more.
It is estimated that by the end of this year, SASA will have helped more than 150 children and young people engage with the performing arts, providing them with vital life skills, improving their mental and physical well-being, and offering a gateway to a creative community. Continual
