Man dies in St Peter’s Street tragedy

The incident in St Peter's Street.

All three emergency services were in attendance after a man suffered a cardiac arrest in St Peter’s Street this morning.

Part of the pavement outside Barclays Bank was taped off by police and privacy screens erected by paramedics while they attended to the individual.

He was subsequently stretchered to a waiting ambulance and taken to hospital.

A police spokesperson confirmed: “Police were called at 8.32am today to assist the East of England Ambulance Service with an incident where a man was suffering a medical episode on St Peter’s Street, St Albans.”

it was later confirmed that the man had died.
