Blue star Duncan James told crowds that he was back “on my old manor” when he performed with his bandmates on the final day of this year’s Foodies Festival.
The singer – who missed the 2024 festival due to corrective surgery on a back condition – revealed how he used to live in Park Street and asked who still remembered Club Batchwood, the St Albans nightclub which closed for good in 2020.
Blue enjoyed the Sunday evening slot at the three day event, which once again took place in the grounds of Oaklands College. Also headlining over the weekend were rapper Example and Symphonic Ibiza, with support from acts including Mr Griff, Funk Odyssey, The Big Choir, Rock of the Pops, Nick Edwards and Marylebone Jelly.
MasterChef champion Chariya Khattiyot appeared in the Chefs Theatre alongside the likes of John Barber from Auberge du Lac and TV chef Shahnaaz Ayub, with Channel 4’s Extreme Cake Makers’ Eloise Durrant hosting in the Cake and Bake Theatre.
Guests could choose from a smorgasbord of international cuisine including barbecue, poutine, curry, burritos and pizza, and browse stalls packed with award-winning high quality products from around the world to try and buy.
