An annual community celebration of the fruit produced by Highfield Park’s historic orchards brought together families, friends and neighbours from across St Albans on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
The free Apple Day event takes place every year on the first Sunday in October, and includes children’s games, apple juicing demonstrations and live music from BSV Jazz Band.
It is organised by Highfield Park Trust, and CEO Debbie Rixon said: “It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying Apple Day again this year. The event is a real celebration of community spirit and a great way for people to learn more about the park and its heritage. We’re very grateful to everyone who joined us and to all the volunteers who helped make the day such a success.”
