The planet doesn’t argue. It doesn’t negotiate. It sends signals – rising seas, raging wildfires, heatwaves, melting glaciers. That’s why it’s important to recognise all those who are working hard to protect the Earth.
Last month was World Environment Day – the perfect platform to launch the Ember Designs Eco Awards for 2026.
There will be three recipients this year, so if you know a young climate leader, a community project, or a business taking real steps for the environment, then please do nominate them.
These are the sustainability awards that celebrate everyone – from ‘Mini Warriors’ to pioneering businesses.
Over the last five years, the awards have showcased environmental heroes of all ages and backgrounds – so do you know an amazing school eco-councillor who is helping their class with green initiatives? Or a faith group going above and beyond to help rewild the local area? Maybe someone in your street is helping biodiversity or arranging regular community litter picks?
You could even nominate a deserving local business who continues to raise the bar for sustainability.
This award is open to EVERYONE in the St Albans district, so get those thinking caps on.
To submit a nomination, simply send your full name along with that of your chosen recipient(s) and a brief synopsis of why you believe they deserve to be recognised to info@emberdesigns.co.uk (rest assured, that’s as far as your information will go).
The deadline for nominations is 6pm on Friday July 31. A three-person judging panel will then no doubt have their work cut out to decide the final winners. The winners will each receive one of these stunning, bespoke awards made by Heartwood Glass, who have supported the initiative from day one.
