The life-savers who provided vital CPR on a 76-year-old man following last week’s city centre car crash are being urged to come forward.
A grey Kia Sportage and a grey and black Renault Captur collided in St Peter’s Street, near the war memorial, just after 2pm on Wednesday October 18.
Emergency services closed the road and the motorists – a 76-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman – were both taken to hospital by paramedics.
Now Sgt Ian Leeson from the Beds, Cambs and Herts Road Policing Unit is looking to speak to passers-by who helped out at the time
He said: “I am relieved to say that the man – who was taken ill at the wheel – is now in a stable condition in hospital. This is after members of the public came to his aid and performed CPR at the scene of the incident and that helped save his life.
“We would like to contact these people. If this was you, please get in touch.”
