St Paul’s Church in Fleetville is holding a special service for anyone who has been bereaved, either recently or at any time in the past.

The Blandford Road church has organised a ‘Remembering Service’ at 4pm on Sunday June 29, open to anyone who would like time and space to recall and reflect on a loved one.

Rev Peter Crumpler, associate minister, explained: “We grieve in all kinds of ways, and over a long period of time. We want to create an opportunity for anyone who is mourning to come along, light a candle if they wish, and have space to reflect, and give thanks.

“Often, especially when there may not have been a funeral, people particularly value the chance to come to the service and give thanks for the life of the person who has died. It can be especially poignant to spend time in a church where prayer has been offered through many generations.”

The ‘Remembering Service’ will last around 45 minutes and be followed by refreshments. All are welcome. There is no need to book in advance.
