The school hall at Loreto College was transformed into a sleek and stylish media zone – complete with plasma screens, director’s chairs, giant mics and a foam rugby ball – as the BBC Careers Bitesize Tour visited the school.
This interactive event has been visiting more than 110,000 secondary school students this term and introducing them to a range of careers available on their doorstep.
Hosted by a BBC presenter in a panel-style set-up, each event has introduced students to three different panellists from a range of backgrounds to inspire young people about their futures.
At Loreto, the team of Richard Ampeh, Euan McClenaghan, Charlie Mascall, Alex Crossland and Josh Duffy, together with host Esme Todd, were joined by guest panellists from the local area Rebecca Robinson, a hair and make-up artist, photographer Hannah Couzens and Luke Jeffrey, a production apprentice with BBC Three Counties Radio.
Loreto careers lead Claire Wicks said: “Everyone brought with them professionalism, energy and charm to each and every session. It was so rewarding to see our young people engaging and investing fully in this most worthwhile experience.
“We cannot recommend this roadshow enough! It managed to reach over 900 students in just three hours, giving them insights into the TV , film, media and creative arts industries, motivating them to know that anything is possible now and at any stage of their lives.”
