Popular booze and trainers running event The St Albans Sixer is upping the stakes for its next challenge.
The Backyard Ultra will be an ultra-endurance race where runners must complete a 4.167-mile (6.706 km) loop every hour, on the hour, until only one runner remains. But as this is The Sixer, there are pints and a pub involved!
The event takes place from the Lower Red Lion in Fishpool Street, with the first lap starting at 10am on May 24.
To continue to take part in the event, runners will need to be on the start line on the hour, every hour. The last person to complete the last lap, will be the winner.
Runners can their drinks tokens from the start of the first lap, up and until the last person crossing the finishing line. They are free to use your drinks tokens in any way they see fit.
The pub will remain open, 24 hours a day, throughout the event. However, only runners and supporters of the runners will be allowed inside during non-pub hours.
This event is limited to only 90 people.
