St Albans performing arts school SASA celebrated its 10th anniversary with students and their families sharing an intimate evening of food, fun and dancing in a marquee at Katherine Warrington School in Harpenden.
Making the event even more special was news that this year’s summer showcase would be providing a record number of free places, allowing 60 more young people to sparkle and shine on stage at Harpenden’s Eric Morecambe Centre in August.
Funding for the 60 places came from a council-led initiative alongside the Herts Sports Partnerships,
Happy Camps. It’s the eight successive time Happy Camps have awarded funding to SASA and it is estimated that by the end of 2025, SASA will have helped more than 150 young people access the performing arts through fundraising and tireless applications.
In line with this determined spirit, the anniversary party saw stilt walkers, ariel acrobatics, song, dance and generous sponsorship from Tesco, Forever Young People, The Sausage Company and Full Metal Finance.
The evening celebrated the deep-rooted family ethos and togetherness which SASA prides itself on.
One parent simply said: “The evening offered a powerful moment of reflection on just how much this extraordinary dance school has meant to us as a family.”
