St Albans Rugby Club is actively recruiting ambitious players for the next season in a bid to strengthen its ranks.
The club, which is located at Boggymead Springs, Oaklands Lane, Smallford, is seeking new talent for 1st, 2nd XV and Vets rugby (over 35).
Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30-8.30 during pre-season and the summer months and Thursdays only during the winter.
Commercial manager Fraser Morris said: “We accept players who can play and train every week or who can only play occasionally or those who are interest in joining for social rugby.
“As well as on-site training, we also have a partnership with a local gym (one of our sponsors) for additional conditioning. As well a senior players with experience, we are also looking for Year 13 students looking to make the step up to adult rugby to come and train with us and represent the Blue and Gold.
“Our 1st XV will be competing at Level 8 of the rugby pyramid in 2024/25 with the aim of promotion to Level 7 within the next three seasons. It is also the aim of our 2nd XV to secure promotion next season following a second place finish in their league in 2023/24.”
Kit is provided on the day, and players just need to bring boots, gumshield and any other optional extras required.
Interested players should contact director of rugby George Elliott on recruitment@stalbansrugby.com to discuss further.
