In our grand plan of what we’re going to write each week, there’s an article that says ‘sunglasses?’
Spurred on by the odd, good day that we’ve had, we look through the collections we have in store and try to remember that we need to photograph them on the next sunny day. And get the waterproofs out again.
We have however, enjoyed a few iced coffees outside the shop so thought we’d tenuously link that to the range of ‘ice’ frames that we have in store at the moment. Both from our own EYES on St Albans collection and from other designers.
Ice glasses frames vary from completely transparent to a slightly more clouded opaque look.
They’re really on trend at the moment for a number of reasons.
- The minimalist aesthetic. Get us with the big words. We love their clean, modern look. They’re super versatile and compliment whatever style you choose to strut your stuff in.
- Suitable for everyone. Clear frames blend with whatever your skin tone is – whether you’re wearing them as a bold statement or going for the subtle but cool look. You are never too old for a pair of ice frames.
- Lightweight and tough. All our ice frames are made from acetate so they’re super light and comfortable to wear. As with all our frames, Jez can adjust them to suit your face shape – adding nose pads if necessary. They’re tough too – within reason!
- Suitable for all the lenses we offer. From a straightforward single vision to a complex varifocal prescription with added extras, our collections in store work with them all.
- We’ve yet to find someone who can’t rock a pair of ice frames – although we do know that some people think they’re a bit ‘too sci-fi’ for them. Even if the futuristic vibe is taking things a bit too far away from your comfort zone, we would add one thing…
- Ice frames make fantastic sunglasses. You know, for when that big light in the sky does care to shine on us.
