Treat yourself to a holistic treatment at Neal’s Yard Remedies in Christopher Place Shopping Centre…
At Neal’s Yard Remedies Therapy Rooms in St Albans, they believe that inner health and outer beauty should be in perfect balance.
They offer a range of treatments and therapies to enhance customers’ wellbeing, with their therapy rooms providing an oasis of pampering and calm within Christopher Place Shopping Centre.
Holistic therapy incorporates both traditional and non-traditional treatments to help an individual as a whole. Rather than focusing on a single concern or issue, it considers mental, physical, and spiritual factors that all play a role in a person’s overall wellbeing.
They offer a diverse range of treatments, from massages and facials using high-performance, organic skincare, to reiki and complementary therapies such as the Emmett Technique or Bowen Technique – which use light touch and rolling movements with a host of benefits.
From hot stone and holistic to prenatal and Swedish, their many massages use the highest-quality certified organic essential oils and base massage oils to deeply relax and revitalise. You can also explore the mind-body connection with non-traditional physical healing practices such as reiki or acupuncture.
Neal’s Yard Remedies has been leading the way for responsible beauty and wellbeing since it opened its first store in Covent Garden in 1981. The multi award-winning brand is now a global leader with a growing presence across five continents but remains grounded in its belief that outer beauty and inner health should be perfectly balanced. Neal’s Yard Remedies use the highest possible percentage of organic ingredients, ethically sourced herbs, botanicals, and essential oils, handcrafted at their eco-factory in Dorset into high-performing, natural and organic products, that care for both people and planet.
Assistant store and therapies room manager Rebecca Lawrie explained: “We are fortunate to have an amazing team of highly qualified and experienced holistic therapists who offer a wide array of treatments tailored to each individual’s concerns and needs.
“We offer many incredible products in store, ranging from relaxing aromatic bath and ody products to high-performing, certified organic skincare collections that deliver results. A few of our St Albans’ community favourites are our Women’s Balance collection, our Rejuvenating Frankincense skincare collection and our iconic Geranium & Orange hand care collection.
“Many customers also enjoy shopping our wide range of natural herbs and essential oils and enjoy taking part in one of our many ‘Create’ workshops in which you can learn how to create your very own bespoke scented product. We recommend popping into the store to join our mailing list to be kept updated on any workshops and events being hosted.
“St Albans is an amazing place to work. We’ve been located in Christopher Place for over 10 years, and our store has become an oasis in which people visit to feel welcome, listened too and understood. The team and I always make sure to spend as much time getting to know our customers and their needs before making holistic recommendations from skincare to treatments depending on which best suits the individual. Our goal is for you leave our store feeling uplifted and rejuvenated.”
Some of the other members of the St Albans team explained why they enjoy offering holistic therapies.
Erolyn Bedeau said: “As a therapist, I have always been interested in how the body works and traditional healing practices. After working within the industry for over 20 years I’ve found that I really enjoy helping people to relax and feel better. I believe holistic treatments are a great way to promote inner peace, stress reduction and ease pain.”
Colleague Halina Houldsworth said she loves being a therapist: “I treat every person as unique and individual and treat the body as a whole and often combine my treatments, using ‘my bag of therapies’ according to individual needs.”
Tanya Adams added: “As a therapist practising in holistic healing, I feel challenged by the diversity of issues that I encounter, I enjoy being able to support these with subtle and accessible treatments that help to relax, recharge and realign the mind and body to improve functioning and help give the individual the tools they need to empower themselves.”
They’ve recently been joined by Sharn Dancer, who is part of the company’s grad clinic programme, meaning she’ll be gaining experience with the Christopher Place Neal’s Yard over the next year, before moving into the main clinic.
Her treatments are offered at a discounted rate of only £40 for a 60-minute session (usually £75) – so customers can come in store for a relaxing holistic experience at almost half the price!
Sharn, who is a full member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), is a passionate and dedicated massage therapist who takes a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. Qualified in both aromatherapy and various modalities of massage, she integrates the two disciplines to offer the added therapeutic benefits of essential oils with her massage treatments.
Sharn completed her aromatherapy, deep tissue and pregnancy massage training in the UK and undertook ayurvedic yoga massage training in India. She tailors her massage treatments to incorporate the different styles and techniques she has learnt, to provide clients with a unique massage experience, with an emphasis of working with each client individually.
Finally, Laura Parker added: “I love having the opportunity to come into work every day and connect with our amazing customers who come visit us in St Albans. It’s incredible rewarding to help support, guide and get to know every individual who walks through our doors.”
