We ask a different figure from the local community to choose 10 questions to answer from a list of 50. This week: Mollie Fielder, 10-year-old pupil at Fleetville Junior School, who insisted on completing our Q&A in order to give a youthful perspective on life in St Albans.
What’s the first thing you do after you’ve woken up in the morning?
If it’s the weekend, I will stare at people when they’re sleeping if it’s like 4am or something. If it’s 8am, I just wake them up. And if it’s a school day, I stare at the wall because I’m annoyed at them for waking me up usually.
What are your preferred pizza toppings?
I like cheese and tomato, and pepperoni sometimes. If you have pineapple, you should go to prison for being an absolute sociopath, because only sociopaths eat pineapple on pizza. That’s just a fact.
Do you have any phobias?
Bugs, the dark. Toilets. Toilets are actually scary…
What’s your favourite St Albans pub?
The Beehive because they have yummy ramen, they have big packets of crisps and it’s not too busy so you get served quicker.
Are you well behaved at school? I don’t know. The teacher doesn’t tell you. She has this list of people and you don’t know who’s on that list. I’m probably on the drawing list because I draw on scrap paper all the time.
What’s your favourite St Albans car park?
The one by McDonald’s and Matalan – I like that shop.
What’s your favourite meal?
Sourdough and olives.
Do you play any musical instruments?
No. Unless you count two songs on the ukulele. Then yes. My Dog Has Fleas and The Sailor Went to Sea. They’ve both got the same rhythm.
What object would you say first if your house was on fire?
My Jelly Cats, because I love them. (Asked about her dog Daphne: She’s a dog, not an object.)
Dogs or cats?
Noooo! They’re both here! Can you both leave please because I’m going to reveal my deepest, darkest secret about you guys…
Shhhhh… it’s dogs!
