Harpenden MP Victoria Collins was the special guest at the opening of a school’s new spiritual garden.
During a special ceremony at the end of term, the new outside space was officially opened at St Nicholas CofE VA Primary School in Church Green.
Situated in the heart of the school grounds, the garden has been created to nurture pupils’ emotional wellbeing and support moments of quiet reflection, prayer and personal growth. It features a natural seating area, sensory plants and inspirational messages of kindness.
The garden was made possible through the support of the PTA and the town’s Waitrose store, as well as enthusiastic contributions from staff and pupils.
It offers a thoughtfully designed tranquil environment for pupils to reflect, relax and reconnect with nature, and celebrates the school’s commitment to holistic education and spiritual development.
Headteacher Mrs Rizelle Crouch said: “Wellbeing is a key focus at St Nicholas Primary and this garden offers a peaceful setting for children to pause, reflect, connect with nature and find calm within their busy day.”
