In pictures: Harpenden cooks up a fabulous food and drink festival

Thousands of people flocked to Harpenden for the town’s acclaimed Food and Drink Festival on Saturday.

The festival showcases the very best of local food and drink, including street food, outdoor bars, market stalls and entertainment.

A diverse range of street food and market stalls drew the crowds to the High Street, the Sustainability Market extended the event into Rothamsted Park, and the funfair and Beer Festival returned to Harpenden Common.

Rayden Solicitors, local specialist family law firm, joined the event for 2024 as Gold Sponsors and executive partner Paula Butterworth said: ‘Rayden Solicitors was delighted to support this year’s Food and Drink Festival – which was once again a brilliant event. Thank you to everyone who stopped by at our stall and helped us raise funds for our chosen charity Rett UK.’

Highlights included local restaurant Bar Azita’s lively outdoor cocktail bar, performances by Strike Free, Pat & the Butchers as well as Number 7 on the live music stage, and the. children’s zone included free soft play, outdoor games, arts and crafts and children’s entertainment.

The Cookery Theatre demonstration stage featured talented chefs and mixologists sharing tips and recipes including Crishi White, founder of The White Lotus Cake Company, who provided an incredible master class on her irresistible Biscoff drip cake.

Harpenden Town Mayor, Cllr Pip Liver said: “Thank you to everyone who attended this exciting festival. It is a real pleasure to see so many people enjoying wonderful food, drinks and entertainment in Harpenden. We are very proud of our vibrant town and the events we host.
