Harpenden residents enjoyed festival summer vibes on the Common on Friday night.

The free community music event featured performances by The Blue Moon, The Maida Vales and The Carnegies, plus food from Boomting Pizza and drinks by The Bubbly Bar.

Local photographer Steve Collins took these shots from the event and said: “There was a huge turn out of families enjoying the music, food and sunshine…really good vibes!”

Harpenden Town Mayor Cllr Kirsti Wenn, who also attended, added: “Friday Sounds on Harpenden Common was a great success and a fantastic new addition to our summer events calendar.

“People of all generations from the community came together to enjoy an evening of live music, food and fun. Music from the three bands created a lively atmosphere with many families up dancing and others enjoying relaxed picnics.

“Thank you to the events team at Harpenden Town Council for their hard work putting Friday Sounds together. I’m looking forward to more of the Summer Sessions events we have planned over the next few weeks.”
