A special breakfast event marking International Women’s Day helped raise funds to give young women a working future.

The sold-out Brilliant Breakfast at Harpenden Golf Club was organised by Sarah Duguid of The PR Studio and Karen Snook of St Albans Mums, in partnership with Sylvia Lowe and Kaja Jarosz from The King’s Trust.

The trust’s Change a Girl’s Life campaign runs courses to support young women in gaining vital skills and confidence they need to build brighter futures for themselves, whether that’s by getting into work or starting up in business.

The event, sponsored by Trinder Hair Studios, raised more than £4,000 for the charity.

Attendees enjoyed breakfast while being inspired by a panel discussion featuring a line-up of speakers including EastEnders actor Kellie Bright, Daisy Cooper MP, artist Lauren Bouche and Sarah-Jane Corfield- Smith of Get The Gloss), and was moderated by Lisa Smosarski, editorial director at Stylist Magazine.

The funds raised from the Brilliant Breakfast will provide young women with vital opportunities, including access to training courses, support with job applications, and resources to help launch their own businesses—empowering them to build brighter futures.

Sylvia Lowe, director of brand and marketing at The King’s Trust, shared her thoughts on the event: “We are incredibly grateful for the support of our community and the generosity of those who attended. These funds are crucial in enabling us to provide young women from all backgrounds with the tools and resources they need to get on the career ladder.”
