Harpenden’s summer carnival will be returning to the town on Saturday June 7 from 12 noon to 6pm.
Thousands of people are expected to enjoy highlights including the award-winning Cha Char Chimps, world famous circus performer Richard Filby and hooptastic hooler-hooper Angie Mack.
The impressive music stage includes crowd pleasers from Sam Lewis, Threefold, Maida Vales and The Carnegies.
Funfair rides, inflatables, a bubble performer, archery, and climbing wall will be open throughout the day as well as a variety of exciting market stalls.
Harpenden Town Mayor Cllr Beth Fisher said: “It is always wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves in Harpenden and we are really looking forward to hosting this fantastic event once again. The summer carnival is a real highlight of our events calendar which offers incredible free entertainment for all the family.
“Community events are so important for many reasons: they help us to support local businesses, bring vibrancy to Harpenden, and importantly help us to raise vital funds for local charities supporting people going through a difficult time. I would like to thank principal sponsors, Turtle Mortgages, whose generosity allows us to host this exciting celebration.”
This year’s chosen charities include Herts Domestic Abuse Helpline and the King’s Pantry and other good causes selected by the Round Table who also play a key role in the event.
Alongside the Carnival, Art on the Common will be situated on outside Park Hall from 10-5pm. This event supports Cancer Research and showcases over 60 local artists.
