The most popular images of Harpenden Photographic Society’s recent annual photography exhibition – as voted for by the public – have been revealed.
The hugely popular event, held at High Street Methodist Church Harpenden on April 26,welcomed close to 300 attendees to the exhibition throughout the day, giving the event its highest attendance level in years.
Steve Collins, chair of Harpenden Photographic Society (HPS), said: “We were thrilled by the wonderful reception from attendees to our annual exhibition. The day was incredibly busy, and it’s always great to see members of the public enjoying all the beautiful work on display.
“We invited visitors to vote for their three favourites from a selection of over 190 print images on display. Now the votes have been counted, I am delighted to announce the most popular images. I would also invite anyone who loves photography and is interested in joining HPS to get in touch, as we always welcome new members to the society.”
1st Place: PETULANT ADOLESCENT CHICK by Malcolm Jenkins
Malcolm’s image was displayed with the following humorous caption: Chick: “I want food”
Mum: “You’re old enough to feed yourself”
Dad: “I’m keeping out of this.”
2nd Place: THE CHILD CATCHER by Tim Tate
3rd Place: LEOPARD CUB HIDDEN FROM HARM by Julie Cawthorpe
