Harpenden Photographic Society (HPS) kicks off its new season next week with a presentation by acclaimed photographer Viveca Koh FRPS FIPF.
Viveca is a fine art photographer holding two Fellowships of the Royal Photographic Society, in Visual Art and Contemporary work, as well as a Fellowship of the Irish Photographic Federation.
Known for her photography of abandoned buildings and close-up detail work, she has built a distinctive body of work that blends documentary imagination with fine art sensibility.
As part of her talk on Tuesday September 1, Viveca will discuss some of her ‘mini projects’ including stone angels and monumental masonry, dolls and mannequins, seascapes, monochrome images and iPhone photography.
A Collection of Moments is at the Harpenden Trust, Southdown Road from 8-10pm, with doors opening at 7.45pm.

“Viveca has become a popular and sought-after speaker on the camera club circuit, sharing the story of her photographic journey and the creative techniques behind her images, and we’re very excited to be welcoming her to HPS. This is one presentation not to be missed!
“As always, HPS has an incredible programme of activity to appeal to anyone interested in photography, and this new season, celebrating our 90th anniversary, is sure to be a great one.

HPS caters for all abilities – from beginner to more advanced photographer. It’s a lively and friendly club of around 85 members. Meetings are held from September to June on the first and third Tuesday each month, usually at either the Harpenden Trust Hall in Southdown or via Zoom.
The varied programme gives members the chance to enjoy and improve their own photography, and to mix and chat with other likeminded enthusiasts. Regular guest speakers allow members the opportunity to learn and be inspired by the many different styles and genres.
