When talking about regeneration, it’s hard not to think of a particular television Time Lord changing their face as often as their clothes, but undergoing a session with the Human Regenerator hopefully won’t result in you altering your appearance.
One of just four commercial devices in the UK, the technology is designed to support the body’s natural healing processes using cold atmospheric plasma – a form of non-thermal plasma similar to the phenomenon of lightning or the Northern Lights – but at a much lower energy and temperature.
Bamboozled by the science? So was I. So how does it all work?
Imagine your body for a moment. Unstable molecules known as free radicals – created by normal metabolic processes or external sources like pollution and radiation – steal electrons from other molecules, destabilising our cells and ultimately causing damage which contributes to ageing and chronic health conditions or inflammation.
But what if there was a way of boosting the supply of electrons to restore those damaged cells?
“When a cell gets damaged, it loses electrons, which is why you eat antioxidant foods. The Human Regenerator effectively acts like a charity, providing an infinite amount of electrons into the body to help balance and regenerate those cells, calm down any inflammation, and boost the energy of people with fatigue and tiredness.”
Helen Hindley, founder of Harpenden-based Regenify Health, first encountered the device at a summit held by Tim Gray – aka Instagram’s @timbiohacker – who has spent many years healing his body through natural therapies and the latest scientific techniques.
“I’ve just finished a degree in nutritional therapy, and I’m really into health optimisation gadgets, so I always give things a go. One of the benefits of this is it’s similar to grounding; you know when you feel the benefits of walking on the ground, but the device provides grounding on speed.
“The first time I tried it I thought I couldn’t justify buying one, but after a few more sessions I thought about setting up a business at home, which led to me starting Regenify Health.
“A lot of people who come in don’t always want to – or are not able to – do things to improve their health because at that point is they’re in too much pain, too tired or lacking in motivation, so actually the last thing they’re prepared to do is volunteer to make nutritional and lifestyle changes.
“Potentially what this device can do is relieve some of those symptoms, give them more energy, take away some of the pain or make them feel better about themselves to they can actually make those changes.”

The German-designed Human Regenerator uses tiny jets to deliver tiny particles of cold atmospheric plasma to pass through the surface of the skin, into the cells, tissues, bones and organs, aided by the creation of an electrostatic field surrounding the body and special contact applicators.
“It goes through the whole body – so it’s around and passes through you, helping restore your body’s electrical stability, including essential elements like the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, hormonal, mental health and immune systems.
“It works with your body’s own natural healing, and how it responds for you will be completely different than how it responds to me. Generally on the whole, young people get amazing results very quickly because their cells are younger and regenerate quicker.”
Having volunteered for an initial session, I was asked to dress in natural fibre clothing to help with the process, and then just lie on a padded plastic bed, contact pads attached to my feet and shoulders (where I have been experiencing a lot of tension recently), relaxing in low lighting to the sound of chilling music.
“Everyone is different, so you might feel tingling, but you might not. It doesn’t affect the result, and the tingling might be felt most where there are known aches and pains, or perhaps in the location where past, long forgotten injuries are located.
“Obviously we can’t guarantee specific results, as it’s a wellness device, not any sort of medical device, and works with your own naturally healing systems, but because I can’t guarantee what you’re going to get out of it, I can as much as possible guarantee a nice experience where you really enjoy some quality relaxation time.
“It’s also about longevity, it’s recharging your cells, it’s regenerating them, it’s giving you this blood flow. Once I get people through the door, they generally love it.”
Her clients include airline pilots, professional athletes, elderly arthritis sufferers, executives looking to destress, and even her own partner…
“He had a knee replacement back in November 2021 which went wrong. The device can’t fix anything that’s structurally in the wrong place, but it can bring down the inflammation and the pain so someone like an osteopath can work on the solution.
“He actually had a Blue Badge because the inflammation was so bad – he couldn’t walk very well, he certainly couldn’t ride a bike, which he loved – and the first time he used the Human Regenerator he didn’t feel anything.
“This is quite normal, but then the second time he felt loads more energy, and so he used it morning and night for four days, and the swelling went right down. Now he’s back on his bike and he’s going to the Alps in the summer. He cried when he first cycled again, because he never thought he’d be able to.”
She is refreshingly honest about the process, and never once tries the hard sell approach, instead hoping word of mouth will be her marketing tool.
“Covid opened my eyes to a lot of things, and made me aware that sometimes natural therapies can work.
“I’m not saying if I got anything serious I wouldn’t be straight down to the doctor’s to diagnose me, however I think there are a large number of complementary therapies that can support symptoms, as well as helping to improve your health span.
“You want your health span to match your life span, and for me this is what it’s all about.”
As expected, I’m soon drifting off during my session, enjoying the escape from life’s stresses, whether that be needy children, demanding colleagues or an endless barrage of emails. And apart from the sense of a long-overdue feeling of relaxation afterwards, I have to admit that nothing seemed to have changed.
But a few hours later, talking through the experience with my partner, I came to the sudden realisation that the shoulder aches and tension I was discussing had somehow faded away, and my movement was once again free of pain.
Was this my own personal regeneration experience? You’ll have to decide that for yourself. In the meantime, if you’d like to find out more about the Human Regenerator and the treatments offered by Regenify Health, visit their website at https://www.regenifyhealth.co.uk/
