St Albans Musical Theatre Company is putting on a production of The SpongeBob Musical, the bold and imaginative stage show that brings the cartoon world of Bikini Bottom to vibrant life.
When a mysterious volcano threatens to destroy their undersea world, SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends must come together to save the day.
With original songs by legendary artists including Cyndi Lauper, Panic! At The Disco, and David Bowie, this energetic production is said to be bursting with humour, heart, and high-energy spectacle.
Director Dan Phillips said: “For me, The SpongeBob Musical is a brilliant, feel-good show that’s perfect for all the family. It’s colourful, funny, and full of heart, but at its core it’s a story about the power of friendship and what can be achieved when people work together. Working with such an energetic and supportive group has been a joy, and we hope audiences leave with big smiles and a reminder of how important teamwork really is.”
Henry Martin, who is the yellow protagonist himself, said: “Playing SpongeBob has been such a fun experience, and this show really has everything – great acting, brilliant singing, and high-energy dancing from an incredibly talented cast. Everyone has put so much into bringing Bikini Bottom to life, and you can really feel that excitement on stage. ”It’s a show full of laughs, music, and heart, and we can’t wait for families to come along and enjoy it together.”
