Pumpkin to look forward to at Willows this October

Willows Farm Pumpkin Festival

More than 15,000 pumpkins are now perfect for picking at Willows Activity Farm.

The London Colney venue kicks off its annual Pumpkin Festival on Saturday (October 10) which then runs on selected dates until Saturday October 31 – Halloween!

Director Andrew Wolfe said: “Our annual Pumpkin Festival is the cornerstone of our autumn celebrations here at the farm.

“We’ve scheduled two early weekends for families who like to get their spooky celebrations underway ahead of Halloween, and this year for the first time we have some dedicated weekdays for preschoolers who prefer a more relaxed picking environment.

“Our Pumpkin Festival then continues every day of the October half term holiday until the end of the month.”

Every paying child will be able to choose one of the thousands of pumpkins from the farm’s Pumpkin Patch to take home or visit the Carving Corner to pimp up their pumpkins without making a mess at home.

Andrew added: “We have approximately 75 tonnes of pumpkins in the patch ready for picking.”

The farm has a host of autumn-themed activities lined up every day of the festival including stage shows featuring Patch the Pumpkin, the Pumpkin Hunt, new funfair rides and spooky arts and crafts for little ones to get stuck into.

The Halloween Corn Maze also makes a welcome return where families can navigate their way through the labyrinth while keeping a look out for spooky Halloween characters.

The Pumpkin Festival takes place on weekends October 10/11 and October 17/18 and then runs from October 23-31. The Preschool Pumpkin Patch is open weekdays October 12-22. Day tickets and multi tickets include all activities, shows and adventure play and can be purchased in advance. For more information, call 0333 331 2060, go to www.willowsactivityfarm.com.
